Working with Warkentin Custom Homes (WCH) means turning your dream home from a vision into reality. We have decades of custom home building experience; our team will work with you to turn your ideas into detailed plans, and those plans into a home. Trusted salespeople, interior designers, architects, and site supervisors will guide you through every stop of the process until all that’s left to do is hand over the keys!

Getting started

Our process starts with some decision-making: A salesperson will help you choose a community and building lot. Next, we’ll present our existing home plans for you to pick from, or help you design one all your own from a list of features you’d like in your new home.

Planning & design

During this stage, you’ll work closely with an interior designer to choose the finishes that will personalize your home. This is also when you’ll decide on the flooring, cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, paint colours, and much more. We use high-quality materials from our trusted, hand-picked group of suppliers.

Construction begins

Once all plans and features are in place, we’ll begin building. The construction process involves four main stages: excavation & foundation, framing & rough-ins, drywall, and finishing. We’ll provide you with updates throughout the entire process, and you’ll be able to watch as your home takes shape and your vision comes to life.

Preparing for possession

At this step, the finishing touches are going to be underway, and your possession date will be fast-approaching. This is the best time for you to arrange your movers, make appointments to hook up telephone and internet services, request an alarm installation, and change your mailing address.

Possession

It’s time for us to hand over the keys! We’ll walk through your home together to familiarize you with your new space and all its features, and we’ll also be sure to address any questions or concerns you may have. Once you’re comfortable, there’s just one thing left for us to say: Welcome to your new home!
